Ship Design Group was founded in 2014 in Sarzana, on the outskirts of La Spezia, on the initiative of Giacomo Parrini and Athos Boldrini. Our history: The Ship Design Group, yesterday and today
On the strength of its past and consolidated experience in the nautical sector and in the structural and functional design of vessels of all types and sizes, Ship Design Group made its debut on the international market with a prestigious order, which immediately proved to be a success: the design of a 107-metre mega yacht for Cantiere Benetti, a world-class shipyard.
This is the first boat of this size ever built by the yard, a demanding and extremely ambitious challenge, but one that was immediately met with enthusiasm. The project launched Ship Design Group into the forefront of the most established companies in the sector right from its debut and has made it a reference company for all shipyards in the Tyrrhenian and Adriatic regions.
The two founders of the company, Giacomo Parrini and Athos Boldrini, occupy the roles of administrative and commercial contact person and design contact person respectively.
Ship Design Group relies on the invaluable support of a staff of eight, including engineers, surveyors and architects, as well as a dense network of external collaborators who support the company in implementing the most complex projects.

The technical staff that has been built up over the years has included highly specialised nautical professionals. A network of individual professionals enhanced in the collective by skilled teamwork and supported by collaborations and synergies with the best-known names in the sector, such as Navalproject, Azimut Benetti, Wider and Sydac.
Since 2015, Ship Design Group has also been part of the Consorzio Milanese di Progettazione ("Milanese Design Consortium"), a leading consortium company in the Oil & Gas Onshore, Offshore and Energy sector that provides basic and detailed mono-polydisciplinary engineering services.
